ちょっと個人的なことを書かせていただきますと
この時期、私はチャートへの興味が減ってしまう原因にもなった現象でした。

このころ多くのアーティストがラジオ局にはプロモーション用の
いわゆる非売品の宣伝用のＣＤは配るけど、
お店に並ぶようなＣＤは売らないという例が多くなりました。
その結果としてラジオではガンガン流れているのに
シングル発売されてない曲はビルボードのチャートには入れないというルールのため
ヒットしているのにチャートには入っていないという変な状態が起きてきました。
またこのルールを悪用（？）して
ラジオのエアプレイがピークに達したころを見越して
少量のシングルＣＤを発売して
初登場１位という一見華々しい記録をねらうアーティストが
多数出てきました。

これでは本来ヒット曲のランキングであるビルボードが
ヒットの実情を反映していないということで
チャートのルール改変が行われ、
シングル発売が無くてもランクインできるようにました。

ナタリー・インブルーリアはラジオエアプレイのピークを過ぎたころ、
このチャート改変が行われたので、
この順位になってます。
ある意味チャート改変の原因を作った一曲でもあり、
チャート改変の犠牲者とも言えます。

　変化していくのは仕方のないことなんでしょうか？

　しかし、今の時代でもアメリカではラジオエアプレイ
　は大きな影響があるのですね？

つい最近またルールの変更が行われたそうです。

最近の問題点はストリーミングの扱いです。
ファンが順位を上げようとして異常な回数再生するとか、
プログラムで連続自動再生するボットといわれるものまで存在するとかしないとか。

つまりストリーミングは青天井、上限が無いということです。

そこで原点回帰ということでエアプレイの比率が引き上げられたそうです。

エアプレイは放送時間という上限がありますから
言わばいす取りゲームなので
順位は分かりやすいです。

まあＣＤやレコードなどの形のある商品の売れ行き、
ラジオの放送回数、
ストリーミングの回数という全く異質のデータを使って
何をもってヒット曲とするかって結構難しいですよね。
